PROGRAM GUIDELINES
- Program runs from October 15 - January 7.
- All prunings, leaves, and Christmas trees must be placed at the front of your property, on the street side at the curb. Piles should not block the gutter or impede water flow.
- Prunings and leaves should be loose
- No containers or bags required
- Do not tie or bundle prunings.
- Prunings must be cut to 4 feet or shorter and no more than 6 inches in diameter.
- No other solid waste or yard material may be mixed in.
- No sod, grass clippings, dirt, lumber
- No bamboo, yucca, palm prunings
- Christmas Tree Guidelines:
- Only real (natural) trees are accepted
- Remove all stands, ornaments, lights, and or other decor
- Do not bag or wrap the tree
CONTAMINATED PILES WILL NOT BE COLLECTED
- If unacceptable material (such as trash, palm fronds, yucca, bamboo, grass clippings, decorations, or other waste) is placed in or mixed with your pile, itwill not be collected.
- Contaminated piles will be tagged as an illegal dump, and you may be subject to fines or code enforcement action.
USE YOUR GREEN WASTE BIN WHEN POSSIBLE
- To help keep curbs clean, reduce clutter and keep gutters and storm drains clear for proper drainage use your green waste bin when possible.
- Small piles of yard debris should be placed in your green waste bin for collection on your regular green waste pickup day.
- The street sweeper is unable to collect small piles of leaves or leaves blown into the street. Such debris may potentially damage sweeper equipment or clog its system, or disperse it further thereby reducing operational efficiency. Consequently, these areas may be bypassed during routine cleaning.
NO NEED TO CALL – CREWS FOLLOW A COLLECTION ROUTE
- There’s no need to contact City Hall to request a pick-up.
- Public Works crews follow a scheduled collection route and will visit each street. Collection times will vary depending on volume and workload.
- If your pile is not picked up right away, please leave it at the curb — it will be collected once the crew reaches your area as part of the regular route.
