Investigations Division

The Ripon Police Department Investigative Unit is made up of a General Crimes Detective and a Special Investigations Detective.

The Detectives are responsible for conducting follow-up investigations into:

• Crimes Against Persons
• Property Crimes
• Fraud Crimes
• Sex Crimes
• Street crimes, which may involve gangs and/or narcotics

The Investigative Unit is driven by the basic philosophy of conducting follow-up investigations for crimes occurring within our jurisdiction. Detectives will proceed with due diligence in evaluating and preparing cases for appropriate clearance or presentation to a prosecutor for filing of criminal charges.

Our department believes that through a proactive and responsive community partnership, the Investigative Unit will be able solve current crimes and prevent future crimes from occurring through aggressive, intense, and thorough investigations.
