Patrol Sergeant Alex BurgosSergeant Alex Burgos

Sergeant Burgos began his law enforcement career in 2001 as a full-time police officer with the Ripon Police Department.  Alex has worked a variety of assignments over the course of his career, including Patrol, Bicycle/ATV Patrol, Range Instructor, Field Training Officer, Detective, and SWAT.

In 2017, Burgos was promoted to Police Sergeant and currently oversees the following duties: Patrol Supervisor, Jail Administrator, Hazmat Coordinator, 10-33 Program Coordinator, MESH/LPR Camera Coordinator, Military Equipment Coordinator, Firearms Instructor Team, and Equitable Sharing (Asset Forfeiture) Manager.

Patrol Sergeant Paul StaleySergeant Paul Staley

Sergeant Staley began his law enforcement career in 2004 with the Modesto Police Department as a Level II Reserve Officer.  Later that year he was hired full-time by the Ripon Police Department.  Sgt. Staley has worked a variety of assignments, including Patrol, Bicycle, Motors, Detective, and POA President.  

In 2018, Staley was promoted to Sergeant and has been responsible for managing Patrol, Training Coordinator, Traffic Safety Coordinator, Side Show Task Force Coordinator, EPAS Coordinator, Policy/Lexipol Administrator.

Sergeant Scott KingSergeant Scott King

Sergeant King began his law enforcement career in 2003 as a full-time police officer with the Ripon Police Department. During his time on patrol, Scott was assigned as a Field Training Officer.  

In 2023 King was promoted to the rank of Police Sergeant, and is currently responsible for supervising a patrol shift, Patrol Supervisor, FTO Coordinator, Hiring/Recruitment Coordinator, Awards Committee Coordinator, Reserve Coordinator, Honor Guard Coordinator, Property Manager.

RourkeSergeant Paul Rourick 

Sergeant Paul Rourick began his law enforcement career in 2007 as a full-time police officer with the Ripon Police Department. Paul has worked various assignments throughout his career, including Patrol, Bicycle/ATV Patrol, Range Instructor, Field Training Officer, SWAT operator and the Police Officer’s Association Union President.

In 2025, Paul was promoted to Police Sergeant and currently has the following duties: Patrol Supervisor, K9 Coordinator, SWAT Coordinator, Range Instructor, Explorer Program Coordinator, Arrest & Control Supervisor, Hostage Negotiation Supervisor, Protest/Riot Response Coordinator, Unhoused Outreach Liason, Terrorism Liason Officer.
