[ARCHIVED] City of Ripon Fleet Maintenance Facility

Corp Yard

After years of planning and preparation, the City of Ripon has completed a much-needed upgrade to its Fleet Maintenance Facility. The original facility, located near Doak Boulevard and Vera Avenue, was built in 1976 and has served the city for over 45 years. At the time, Ripon had just 3,500 residents and seven public works employees. Today, with the city's population and services having grown significantly, the old facility could no longer meet the demands of the community.

To address this, the City of Ripon purchased seven acres of land on Doak Boulevard for the construction of a new, modern Fleet Maintenance Facility. In 2019, the City worked with architects to create a master plan for this state-of-the-art facility. The new plan ensures Ripon is prepared to serve a future population of up to 40,000 residents. Additionally, the plan accounted for the costs of construction and outlined the first phase of development to meet the immediate needs of the Public Works Department.

This new facility marks a significant milestone for the City, equipping the Public Works team to better serve the community for years to come. The investment in this upgrade ensures that Ripon is ready for continued growth while maintaining the high standard of service its residents have come to expect.

The City of Ripon will host an Open House for the public on October 30, 2024 at 11:00 am.
