Department of Homeland Security
V.I.P.S.
Volunteers in Police Service or VIPS as they are commonly known, are
citizens over the age of 18, who donate their time to assist the Police
Department in a variety of areas. These generous citizens are trained,
professional volunteers who enhance the Department's ability to serve
the community and are a vital part of the Police Department.
Ripon Consolidated Fire
District
The RCFD is not under the umbrella of the City of Ripon,
but is an independent agency.
In 1963, the Ripon Rural County Fire Protection District and the Ripon
Fire District joined to form the new Ripon Consolidated Fire District.
The RCFD protects, not just the City of Ripon, but also those in the
"sphere of influence" of Ripon.
The District has a combination of paid and volunteer fire department,
with fully equipped fire stations, and an outstanding ambulance service
that includes trained paramedics and a rescue squad.
