Sgt. Matthew Ishmael

Update: Matthew Ishmael has been back since November of 2005. He served in Iraq under the 1st Infantry Division in Northern Iraq. He earned a Combat Actions Badge (CAB) and a "Big Red One" combat patch while serving in Iraq.

Since he has been back, he has completed a police academy and is currently a Police Officer for the City of San Bernardino(Southern California). Ishmael is now a Sergeant in the California Army National Guard. He is preparing to deploy again to Iraq in June 2008. He will be a part of the 1498th Transportation Company underneath the 4th Infantry Division. This we'll be both Ishmael's and his unit's second deployment to Iraq. Upon the completion of his next deployment, he plans to buy a house in the City of Ripon and work for a local police agency.
